Board of Directors
The
Board of Directors in Gulf College is a
consultative, supervising board consisting of 22
members representing the founders, students’
parents, businessmen of public and private
sectors, and college faculty members. The main
tasks of the Board of Directors is giving
opinions and remarks on the plans and policies
applied and new presented by the college
deanship. The Board members may also offer
support and assistance in implementation of the
policies and plans carried out by the College
according to the available facilities.
The

The
College Board holds the following tasks and
authorities:
·
Approves any agreements related to academic
connections with local and foreign parties, and
periodically discusses procedures in such
agreements.
·
Approves all regulations and organizational
procedures related to quality assurance or
academic procedures in the college and
periodically review the work.
·
Approve the annual budget of the College and
forward it to the Board of Directors for
approval.
·
Strengthening the relationship of the College
with the institutions in public and private
sectors.
·
Strengthening the relations between the teaching
staff and other offices in the College, and
coordinating their scientific, academic,
training and consultative activities.
·
Assessing the College works by reviewing the
annual reports forwarded by the Dean and forming
committees for assessing the graduates’
abilities to meet the needs of society.
·
Discussing and approving the projects prepared
by the Deanship to organize the students’
activities or any other projects.
·
Enhancing the standard of services provided by
the College related to learning, training,
scientific research and society serving.
·
Discussing and approving the recommendations
presented by the College Dean to organize work
in the college.
·
Approves the annual report prepared by the
College Dean regarding work in the college to
evaluate the achievements and suggested plans
for improvement to forward it to the Board of
Directors.
·
Approving the study plans.
·
Granting academic, honourary degrees and
certificates.
·
Laying instructions for students’ admission.
·
Establishing professorships.
·
Coordinating between the works of colleges
regarding lessons, lectures, academic research
and examinations.
·
Appointing teaching staff, promoting and
transferring them from one rank to another,
granting them sabbatical years, leave without
payment, accepting their resignations and ending
their services.
·
Establishing academic departments and approving
programmes, new academic specializations,
merging them in others or canceling them.
·
Assessing the teaching staff works, their
academic activities, their teaching methods, and
their academic research, and taking decisions in
this regard.
·
Sending teaching staff in scholarships, academic
missions, training courses, extending period of
stay and any other issue related to that.
·
Approving the recommendations for the number of
students annually admitted in the various
programmes and specialisations, and the study
fees for each.
·
Studying proposed study plans presented by the
academic staff, discussing them and issue
decisions accordingly.
·
Assessing the academic performance and the
scientific standard in the College.
·
Laying instructions for implementing the
regulations related to the academic work in the
College.
Considering any issue related to the academic
work presented by the Dean that is not within
the authority of any other body.
