About University of Hull
Building on a long tradition of
accounting, business, economics and management
teaching and research, Hull University Business
School (HUBS) was formed in August 1999. Despite
still being classed as relatively 'new' in
comparison with some of the UK's other business
schools, it is one of the most successful. Since
its opening, the school has grown year on year
and now has over 2000 students and some 85
academic staff.
As a full-service business
school, HUBS delivers high quality, research-led
teaching, business and management research,
executive programs and short courses, as well as
consultancy services to the business community.
Its mission is to be a customer-focused, full
service business school contributing to the
development of international business excellence
and to serving its region.
Having just moved to new premises
on the Hull campus, the Business School now has
brand-new, up-to-date facilities including
dedicated computer suites, a management learning
laboratory and a 500-seat lecture theatre. There
are large library collections in business
subjects along with growing electronic
information resources and state-of-the-art ICT
facilities and infrastructure. The extensive and
sympathetic refurbishment of three listed
buildings, which now house the school, provides
an exciting and stimulating learning environment
for students, staff and corporate clients.
All of this, together with recent
appointments of senior academic staff with
international research reputations, the award of
EQUIS accreditation, and a reputation for
customer focused student support mean it is an
excellent time to join this ambitious and
expanding school, which is already amongst the
best in the UK.
The Hull MBA in Oman
The Hull MBA by part-time study
is completed over two years and is flexibly
delivered in Oman over long weekends to allow
practicing managers to study while in work.
Work-based elements in the program provide
significant learning and organizational
benefits, addressing real issues and adding
significant value to employing organizations as
well as to the participant's personal and
management development.
The MBA program is international
in scope and fosters organizational literacy,
pragmatic business skills, and awareness of the
changing context in which contemporary
organizations operate. It
•
provides the broad-based
education necessary for actual or aspiring
senior managers and does so by building the
necessary holistic perspective on business
activity and managerial decision making
•
provides opportunities to pursue
personal choice reflecting differing sectors or
contexts whilst holding true to the generalist,
strategic nature of a Masters in Business
Administration
•
develops critical thinking skills
grounded in students' experience and existing
familiarity with the operational and strategic
concerns across an enterprise and thereby
produces well-rounded and effective managers
with the capability to fulfill their personal
objectives
•
balances thorough coverage of
fundamental management principles with exposure
to innovative and challenging ideas in a program
that is rigorous and stretching
•
provides a qualification that is
internationally recognized thus increasing your
worth as an employee to your company in terms of
the contribution you make.
