IT and Technical Support Department
The IT and Technical support Department is one of the distinguishing departments in Gulf College. This department is regarded as an activating Centre at the College. It develops Computer programmes. One of the most significant activities for this department is installing local web & connecting is with college departments. Besides, there is the main server’s room and the accompanying equipments.
Department staff is responsible of supervising and following up college labs. There are several labs equipped with the latest developed sets connected to the web and provided with the necessary programmes for the curriculum. The department supervises these labs, maintains any breakdown that occurs for the PCs, protects the PCs from viruses and protects the local web.
In addition to that, the department supports other departments with all the necessary equipments for the PCs, printers, downloading and maintenance wherever any breakdown takes place.

Due to the outstanding development in the field of communication and information technology, the Gulf college has established the IT and technical support department to enhance this development in scientific and academic fields as a result of the increasing number of students and the expanding many technical services as the computerized systems and computer webs as well as the technical support for users and internet services and so on. Thus, the IT department is considered as the backbone of the college by offering services foe all the academic and administrative departments.
The department aims at unifying electronic dealing at the college and providing training materials and teaching programmes used by college staff by means of the local web. Moreover the department does its best to develop the administrative work at the college by providing Internet services and the necessary programmes for departments and labs, data exchange and electronic documentation by means of the web by the lowest possible costs.
Organizing input and putting the plan following at the new electronic site www.gulfcollegeoman.com, which is being updated, by the IT department. Data connection is connected according to the organizational hierarchy applied at the college.
The college has a special system for managing data for students registered at Gulf College. IT department offers technical support and training for this programme which is considered a significant department in the college since it is in charge of facilitating and coordinating managing this programme and it stands as all departments of the college.
IT department, through this programme, provides all the departments with sheets of student’s attendance and timetables of teaching staff members and students. The data of the programme help the users to get benefit from them and to carry out the task faster and more accurate and to facilitate the view of the data in the windows obviously and easily.
This system embodies all requirements of the college including student’s data: name, ID, Birth dates, data of joining the college, specialization, level and semester, full timer/part timer, the method of fees payment, etc. The number of students is about 950 students in all the fields, etc. Business administration, Marketing Management, Finance, Banking, Accountancies, Economy, Traveling & Tourism Administration, Communication Programming, Computer Sciences, Information System, Computer Programming.
The system also, includes data of lectures time of each lecturer in the college whereby the distribution of students. Academic programme (e.g., time, lecture, class) is accomplished.
