is the Programme About
|
The travel and tourism industry
is one of the fastest growing sectors of the
economies of the world. Clearly, such an
important industry presents a number of
managerial challenges, requiring suitably
qualified graduates in middle and senior
management positions. This course provides an
integrated and thorough overview of all aspects
of travel and tourism management, to enable
students to meet these challenges. It develops
the specialist knowledge, required for
particular vocations and professions within this
service sector industry.
What
does the Programme Contain
|
Students will study modules in
Travel and Tourism Environment, Issues in
Tourism, Environment and Sustainability, Urban,
Rural and Coastal Tourism, Domestic and
International Tourism Marketing, Contemporary
Recreational Tourism, Visitor Attraction
Management, International Tourism and
Development, together with an in depth
investigation of a tourism topic of their
choice. They will also study the core subjects
necessary for a management career within the
travel and tourism sector, such as Business
Skills, Business Environment and Managing People
and Marketing. The course is also designed to
develop a range of practical skills such as
communication, applying technology, creativity,
decision making, problem solving and the
development of research methods. These skills
are developed through assignments and
examinations and in-class activities. Learning
is through lectures, seminars, case studies,
group projects, presentations and a
dissertation.

does the Qualification lead
|
This award aims to equip students
with the knowledge, understanding and skills
necessary for a range of employment
opportunities in the travel and tourism industry
and related organizations at supervisory or
middle management level.
How much Time period does
it take
|
The Bachelor's Degree in Travel &
Tourism Management with Honors can be achieved
over a minimum period of 3 years. It is
required to have 360 credits over the 3 years
period with maximum 120 credits being
accumulated each year.
